BarHelper 8.1 is here! 🍻

This is our biggest update of the spring, and it's rolling out now on the App Store and Google Play. Over the last two months we've been heads-down building the features you've asked for the most — keeping an eye on your CO₂, getting alerted before a leak empties your bottle, and reaching us directly from inside the app. Here's everything that's new.

📊CO₂ bottle tracking

Your kegs have always had a home in BarHelper — now your CO₂ does too. Add your CO₂ bottles to inventory, assign them to a tap tower or a location, and watch a live gauge on your Home screen showing exactly how much gas is left.

• Live weight from your Plaato scale — place your bottle on a Plaato 2 keg scale and BarHelper converts the weight into kilograms of CO₂ remaining, automatically.
• Gauge on Home — a glanceable tank graphic with fill level and percentage, right next to your taps.
• Tower & location aware — see which tower a bottle feeds and which bottles live at each location, just like kegs.

🚨CO₂ leak alerts

Nothing ruins a weekend like discovering an empty CO₂ bottle and a flat kegerator. With a Plaato scale on your bottle, BarHelper now watches for suspicious weight loss — and the moment a leak is suspected you get a push notification, an email, and clear red warnings on the Home card, device list and detail page. Catch it while there's still gas in the bottle.

💡Plaato 2 just got smarter

• Beer or CO₂ — your choice: switch a device between keg mode and CO₂ mode straight from the app when you link it. The device is configured for you; no manual fiddling.
• More accurate pours: we fixed the tapped-amount calculation and tare/unit handling, so your remaining-volume numbers are more trustworthy.
• Simpler linking: one device, one link — connecting a Plaato to a tap or CO₂ bottle is clearer and safer than before.

💬 In-app support chat

Questions, ideas or trouble? Open Support right in the app and start a conversation with us. You'll get an answer as a notification, can keep the thread going as long as you need, and archive it when you're done. We've also started adding help (?) buttons across the app, so an explanation of every field is only a tap away.

📲Push notifications & a better activity feed

• Push on iOS and Android — keg level warnings, leak alerts and support replies land straight on your phone.
• Filter by type — the activity list can now be filtered, so you can see just taps, just bottles & cans, or just what matters right now.
• Bottles & cans done right — their notifications now carry the same info and clean design as kegs.
